Terms of Service

Please read these terms carefully. By purchasing the SocialLyte HUD or using the SocialLyte web dashboard, you agree to be legally bound by these terms. If you do not accept these terms in their entirety, you must cease all use of the platform.

1. Definition of Service

SocialLyte is an integrated social utility platform for Second Life residents. The service consists of an in-world scripted object (HUD) and a companion web interface. These tools enable users to log location data, manage events, track social connections through "Bond Levels," and participate in a gamified experience involving experience points (XP) and digital achievements.

SocialLyte is an independent application and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by Linden Research, Inc.

3. User Accounts & Identity

Your SocialLyte account is uniquely identified by your Second Life avatar UUID. Accounts are initialized automatically upon first activation of the HUD. You are solely responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all content or activity generated under your avatar's identity.

Impersonation of other users or the creation of fraudulent activity for the purpose of manipulating platform statistics is strictly prohibited.

4. Financial Terms

SocialLyte is provided as a one-time purchase using Linden Dollars (L$). All transactions are processed through the Second Life Marketplace or in-world vendors and are subject to the terms and conditions established by Linden Research, Inc. SocialLyte does not process or store real-world currency or payment information.

Refund Policy: Due to the digital nature of the software, all sales are final. Refunds will not be issued once the HUD has been delivered to the user's inventory.

5. Acceptable Use Policy

Users agree to utilize SocialLyte in a manner consistent with Second Life Community Standards. Prohibited conduct includes, but is not limited to:

Violations of this policy may result in immediate suspension or permanent termination of access to the platform.

To facilitate core functionality, SocialLyte collects and stores the following data points:

SocialLyte does not sell user data to third parties. We do not collect real-world personal information such as legal names, email addresses, or physical locations.

7. Service Availability

SocialLyte is provided on an "as-is" and "as-available" basis. While we strive to maintain consistent uptime, we do not guarantee that access will be uninterrupted. We are not liable for any loss of digital progress (XP, Bond Levels, or Achievements) resulting from server downtime or technical errors.

8. Modifications to Service

We reserve the right to modify, adjust, or discontinue any feature of SocialLyte at our discretion. This includes the adjustment of XP rewards, achievement requirements, or website functionality. Continued use of the service following such changes constitutes acceptance of the modified experience.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, SocialLyte and its developers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of the service. In all cases, our total liability shall not exceed the original purchase price of the HUD.
